Re-Election Campaign
Dr. Malinda Laura Hurley
Alta Loma School District Governing Board Trustee · Area 5
Dedicated to academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and every Alta Loma student.

About Dr. Hurley
A Life of Service
My entire life has been dedicated to service above self. For 22 years, I have proudly served as a public-school teacher because I truly believe education is the equalizer.
I am a product of the foster care and public school system and a graduate of Alta Loma High School, Chaffey College, California State University of San Bernardino, UCLA, and Cal Poly Pomona, where I earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Community Roots
Having grown up in Alta Loma as a proud niece of a Mexican immigrant and member of a military family, my roots run deep in this community. As an engaged parent, I was a PTA member for decades and served on many school site councils while raising my three children.
As an active community member and foster youth advocate, I volunteer every month to mentor foster youth with the non-profit organization Simply Friends. My passion is fighting for the disenfranchised, the marginalized, and our Democratic values.
Leadership & Advocacy
I serve as an executive OMTA board member, an ALSD School Board Trustee for Area 5, a CTA California State Council member, an NEA California State Delegate Representative Assembly member, a United Nations Association USA member, and was a California Representative for Congressional District 33 at the DNC in Chicago.
I continue to lobby at the local, state, national, and international level to strengthen laws and policies that embrace our Democratic values for public education, social equality, economic fairness, civil rights, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
